Bio

Al is a self-taught artist living in North Mankato, Minnesota. Working mainly in oils, he prefers the pallet knife technique over brushes, producing rich, bold colors that more closely match those found in nature. The French Impressionism techniques of Monet et al are incorporated into his landscapes. Favorite artists include Maxfield Parrish, John Singer Sargent and, of course, the wild and crazy surrealist Salvador Dali.
